Disturbing bodycam video shows aftermath of fatal alligator attack on woman in Florida Bodycam footage captured a Florida deputy's desperate attempt to save Brittany Clark, 31, who was mauled by an alligator while swimming in a river in Little Big Econ State Forest Bodycam footage captured a Florida's deputy's desperate attempt to save a woman who was fatally mauled by an alligator. Brittany Clark, 31, from Orlando, was attacked in the Econlockhatchee River at Little Big Econ State Forest, about 25 miles north-east of the city, on Sunday. Officials said the attack happened after Clark, her boyfriend and a friend stopped for a swim during a hike. In the harrowing clip, released by the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, the deputy runs through a wooded area before reaching the riverbank, where the victim appears to be lying under a tent. The deputy is then seen taking out a tourniquet to apply to her wounds before the footage ends, the Mirror US reports. Clark's boyfriend, Chance Allison, had earlier told an operator in a 911 call: "Both her arms are dislocated - off basically ... one arm is completely off." Screaming and crying could be heard as Allison, 30, pleaded for help, saying he is "still trying to get her arms away from the alligator's mouth" and urging emergency services to hurry because she is "losing a lot of blood". A woman, understood to be Clark’s friend, was asked by the operator how bad the injuries were. "Terrible," she said. "Both her arms, both her arms are off, like basically." Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) spokesperson Chad Weber told reporters on Monday that the attack took place while the friends were in "approximately 3ft of water", adding: "It doesn’t seem they were doing anything malicious." "She was bitten on both of her arms," he said. "The boyfriend was the one that made the phone call. He was trying to get her from the alligator’s mouth, and on the way to the hospital, she did pass away from her injuries." "We offer our condolences to this young lady’s family," Weber added, without disclosing the victim's identity. Authorities captured two alligators measuring 12ft and 13ft from the river. The reptiles were euthanised and sent for DNA testing, he said. In a text message to NBC News, Allison said: "Brittany was such an amazing and caring person and didn’t deserve to go out in such a way." "She was the strongest and most outgoing person I’ve ever met in my 30 years of life," he added. The FWC reports an average of about eight unprovoked alligator bites each year. Since 1948, there have been just 26 fatal alligator attacks in Florida, which is home to an estimated 1.3 million alligators. [Image text:] 2026-06-2813:41 AXON BODY4D01A
