An outbreak of the highly virulent bird flu strain H5N1 in commercial poultry flocks could push egg prices over $10 a carton, business groups have warned.
So far, there is no evidence that H5N1 bird flu has spread to poultry in Australia, after the first confirmed cases in wild birds across three states.
