Emergency services called to 'skydiving incident' in Nottinghamshire Emergency services are responding to a 'skydiving incident' at Langar Airfield, home to Skydive Langar, in Nottinghamshire Emergency services have been called to a skydiving incident on Sunday afternoon. Nottinghamshire Police said officers were called to Langar Airfield - home to Skydive Langar - at 12.13pm on Sunday. A force spokesperson said officers were attending a "skydiving incident" and was unable to provide further information at this time. Langar Airfield was first opened in 1942 as a base for the RAF 207 squadron during World War 2. Skydive Langar, which opened at the site in 1977 and operates from the historic control tower, says it is the UK's busiest civilian skydiving centre. It says it carries out more than 50,000 jumps a year using a fleet of three turbine-powered aircraft: two Cessna Grand Caravans and one standard Cessna Caravan. This is a Breaking News story.
