English singer Harry Styles, 32, paid an emotional tribute to his One Direction bandmates as he brought his record-breaking Wembley Stadium residency to a close. Telling 80,000 fans he would never have reached the stage without the four men who helped launch his career, Styles used the final night of his 12-date London run to thank Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik – and his “dear friend”, the late Liam Payne, who died in 2024 aged 31. Styles closed the London leg of his Together, Together world tour on Saturday (Jul 4) after becoming the first artiste to perform 12 shows at Wembley Stadium in a single run. His achievement eclipsed Coldplay’s previous 10-night record and surpassed the eight-night residency staged by Taylor Swift in 2024 by a solo artiste. The concerts support Styles’ fourth studio album – Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally – which was released earlier this year. The tour will continue with dates in Sao Paulo, Mexico City, New York City, Melbourne and Sydney. Addressing the crowd during the concert, Styles paused to reflect on the people who shaped his career. He said: “I wouldn’t be on this stage if it wasn’t for four friends of mine that were a massive part of this journey. “I wanna thank Niall, Louis, Zayn and my dear friend Liam for these nights and everything that I learnt in this time, the friendship, everything…none of this would be possible, I wouldn’t be here without you, thank you so much.” Later in the show, Harry Styles looked back on returning to the stadium where his journey with One Direction began after the group was formed on The X Factor in 2010. He said: “Sixteen years ago…just outside of this building, just next door…I was put into a band that changed my life. “As I drive through this area, I’m flooded with memories from that time. And every time I have the privilege of returning to Wembley, it’s meant an incredibly great deal to me. Thank you so much.” His comments came at the conclusion of a residency that has rewritten Wembley’s record books. Originally announced as six performances, demand prompted the addition of six further dates, making it the longest single concert run by any artiste at the stadium. Wembley Stadium marked the occasion on social media before the final concert, writing: “From the first night to the twelfth. Tonight marks the final show of Harry Styles’ Together, Together tour at Wembley Stadium. A record-breaking run. 12 nights we’ll never forget. Let’s make the final night one to remember.” The Wembley performances have also coincided with renewed attention on Styles' solo career following the release of Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, his first studio album since Harry’s House. Produced by Kid Harpoon, the record has topped charts internationally and launched the Together, Together tour, Styles' first global tour since the record-breaking Love On Tour.
