Chip supplier Unimicron Technology Corp. is seeking as much as $1.4 billion from a sale of global depositary shares, according to terms of the deal seen by Bloomberg News, tapping the market amid heightened investor enthusiasm for companies aligned with the boom in artificial intelligence.
The Taiwanese company is selling 50 million global depositary shares at $26.96 to $27.76 each, the terms show. That’s a 3% to 6% discount to its NT$917 ($28.59) closing price in Taipei on Monday. Unimicron plans to use the proceeds to procure raw materials in foreign currencies.
