Security staff have restrained a suspect during an alleged assault and robbery at a bottle shop in Hobart's north.
Tasmania Police said a 19-year-old Warrane man is in custody following the incident at Northgate shopping centre about 4pm today.
Police said "initial investigations indicate three people entered the store and assaulted a staff member, before stealing a quantity of alcohol".
"Security staff intervened and one man was arrested safely at the scene by police."
The person who was assaulted was being assessed at the scene for "minor facial injuries", police said.
Investigations are ongoing to identify and locate the other people involved, police said.
