Just hours after touching down in the UK, Prince Harry stepped out to support a friend at a film premiere in. The Duke of Sussex headed to Central London last night where he was photographed at the ‘Shoot The People’ UK Premiere in the VIP arrivals section.
The film, playing at Picturehouse Central, centres around Harry’s friend Misan Harriman, the chairman of the Southbank Centre, with whom he smiled alongside as they posed for photos.
Misan has been close to Harry and his wife Meghan for many years, famously photographing their announcement that they were expecting Lilibet back in 2021.
He also captured Harry and Meghan's daughter on her first birthday in the gardens of Frogmore Cottage.
The Southbank chief has recently found himself in the centre of a major controversy, as he announced last month that he would step back from his role over remarks he made online, as first reported by the Telegraph.
These included a claim that news outlets had omitted a Muslim victim from coverage of attacks in Golders Green, north London. In May, Misan was also accused of comparing Reform UK’s local election success with the Holocaust.
Harry arrived in the UK without his wife Meghan Markle and their children, Archie and Lilibet, just hours after his accommodation offer at Buckingham Palace was revoked.
Harry's trip to his home country comes as he is set to travel to Birmingham later in the week to attend an event marking the official one year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games. The trip has been fraught with obstacles, long before Harry touched down in Britain. It's not known which airport the duke arrived at, and it's not known where he's staying during his trip.
When the visit to the UK was first announced, the Mirror reported that Harry had been offered to stay in a royal residence while in his home country by invitation of the King, with Buckingham Palace being on offer.
The prince's spokesperson said on Monday morning that Harry had accepted an offer to stay at the Palace for part of his visit. However, the Palace has since said this would not be the case as the accommodation is no longer available.
Buckingham Palace has 240 bedrooms, with 52 of these reserved for royals and their guests. To keep things running smoothly and safely, a number of staff and security are required to be present when a member of the Royal Family is staying in the Palace.
According to a royal source, the London residence required a minimum level of notice so a guest may be hosted appropriately. Given Harry reportedly left it to the last minute to accept the offer, it was withdrawn. It is understood Harry now plans to stay in private accommodation, at an undisclosed location.
