A murder investigation has been launched after a teenager was stabbed at a property in Northampton.
Northamptonshire Police said the boy died at an address in Adnitt Road in the Abington area of the town on Tuesday evening, despite efforts from officers, members of the public and paramedics.
A police cordon is expected to remain in place at the address in Adnitt Road and in Dallington Park as the investigation continues, with members of the public asked to avoid both areas.
Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Ryan Catling from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit Major Crime Team, said: “This is a fast-moving investigation with several scenes in place as we work to establish what has happened.
“As we do this work, I’m appealing for anyone who may have been in Adnitt Road and the surrounding area from 6pm last night and may have seen anyone acting suspiciously to contact us.
“We also want to speak to anyone who may have seen two people acting suspiciously in Dallington Park from 7pm onwards.”
Mr Catling added: “We know this incident will cause a lot of concern for the local community and I want to offer reassurance that we are doing all we can to establish what has happened and identify those responsible.
“Our neighbourhood policing team will be conducting patrols throughout the day, and I would encourage anyone with concerns to approach one of our officers who will be happy to help.
“As part of our investigation we want to hear from anyone in Adnitt Road or the surrounding streets who may have captured any footage on CCTV or doorbells, or indeed if anyone driving in the area captured anything on a dashcam.
“Any small piece of information or footage is useful and could be the vital detail we need as part of our inquiry.”
Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 26000400106 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
