England vs Argentina weather: Could World Cup semi-final kick-off be delayed?
England fans have been busy checking the weather forecast ahead of their last two World Cup matches, but it's set to be a different story when the Three Lions take on Argentina on Wednesday
England are still cooling down after their red-hot victory over Norway in Miami on Saturday, and their next stop is Atlanta. Thomas Tuchel's side will play Argentina in a World Cup semi-final clash on Wednesday at the futuristic Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Both teams have experienced playing in Atlanta, with England having beaten DR Congo there in the round of 32 before Argentina overcame Egypt in the last 16. Since their last visit to the state of Georgia, the Three Lions have had to deal with some serious weather concerns.
England swapped sunshine for a soak in the rain of Mexico City a week ago, with a thunderstorm forcing kick-off to be delayed by one hour. Then in Miami, the scorching heat and high humidity made beating Norway an even harder task.
The Three Lions got through it, however, and have been rewarded with a return to a climate-controlled stadium. With temperatures expected to range between the high 20s and low 30s around the time of kick-off at 3pm local time on Wednesday, the stadium's retractable roof should keep things pleasant for the players and spectators.

The current forecast also says that there's a low chance of thunderstorms, something which would impact the semi-final regardless of the stadium's technology. FIFA protocol states that matches must be suspended if electronic activity is detected within an eight-mile radius of the ground.
A game can only resume when 30 consecutive minutes without a lightning strike are recorded. But the action wouldn't get going straight away, as players must complete a 15-minute warm-up before the match restarts.
The conditions in Miami were at the centre of England midfielder Jude Bellingham's high-profile disagreement with Tuchel after beating Norway 2-1 after extra-time. The England manager described his team as 'lucky' to advance after putting in a 'sloppy' performance.

"Maybe he [Tuchel] doesn't know what it's like to play in those conditions against [Erling] Haaland, [Martin] Odegaard, [Antonio] Nusa and [Alexander] Sorloth," Bellingham said post-match. "They're not an easy team to play against.
"I can't speak highly enough of the lads. You can't win every game popping the ball and making 1,000 passes, sometimes you have to win dirty and we did that today."
