India’s trade deficit widened in June, with uncertainty over the US-Iran conflict and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz continuing to cloud the outlook for global supply chains.
The gap between exports and imports stood at $30.43 billion in June, compared with $28.2 billion in May, according to data released by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry on Monday. Economists had expected a deficit of $26.5 billion, according to a Bloomberg survey.
