“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the crew’s family and friends during this difficult time. Grief support services are being offered to guests and crew members affected by this event,” the company said in a statement.
The company also thanked local authorities and the crew of the Carnival Jubilee, who helped in the search and rescue efforts.
The Regal Princess resumed its voyage and departed the waters off Cancun, with the next stop Tuesday in Belize.
The seven-day cruise is expected to return to Fort Lauderdale as scheduled on Saturday.
