Nurse charged with sexual assault of 79yo at Clarence Valley aged-care facility Tue 14 Jul 2026 at 11:00am An assistant nurse has been charged after allegedly sexually assaulting a cognitively impaired patient at an aged-care facility in northern NSW. The 27-year-old man is accused of sexually assaulting a 79-year-old patient between November 2023 and February 2024 at an aged care home in the Clarence Valley. Police began investigations last month after receiving a report about the alleged assault. The man was arrested on Monday at Grafton Police Station and charged with aggravated sex assault of a victim with cognitive impairment, aggravated sexually touching of another person, and aggravated carry out sexual act with another. He appeared in court on Monday, when bail was formally refused. He is due to appear in Grafton Local Court on September 7.
