Fox News host Laura Ingraham is not happy with a new ranking of the worst states to live in America.
A recent report by CNBC that scored states on their quality of life named Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Utah as the 10 worst places to live in — all of which are red states. The report sparked a MAGA meltdown that made its way to Tuesday’s episode of The Ingraham Angle.
Ingraham, 63, scoffed at the rankings and questioned the validity of the list in comparison to a separate survey by business magazine Chief Executive in which 650 CEOs ranked the most business-friendly states.
“The top 10, including Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, are Republican,” Ingraham said. “So, money and people, resources, are pouring into red states. How do the socialists brush this off? Well, they do so either by ignoring it or distorting the data, or [with] a little help from their friends.”
She went on to point out that every state that made CNBC’s ranking — which weighed factors like crime rates, air quality, healthcare, workers’ rights, and civil rights — has a Republican governor, and that each one supported President Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
“This CNBC report just came out. They listed the 10 worst states to live in for 2026. All the states on this list, okay, Trump won,” Ingraham explained. “Every state except Georgia in 2020. And the list included four of the top 10 states for business. How does that make any sense?!”
She added, “They have kind of a weird calculus there, but this is obviously a blatant effort to denigrate more conservative states. But it’s really nothing new.”
Ingraham, who lives in the blue state of Virginia, was not the only conservative figure who was in disbelief over the report.
“This has got to be a joke,” MAGA podcaster Dan Bongino, formerly the FBI deputy director, said about the list on his radio show. “I think we’re getting scammed. Is this a real article?”
He continued, “This cannot be real! Does this match up with reality, or are you living in Jeffrey Dahmer-land?”
Sean Davis, the CEO and co-founder of conservative outlet The Federalist, said on Fox’s late night show Gutfeld! that the ranking might be a good thing for conservatives in the end because it could keep leftists from moving to the low-ranked states.
“We've got God, we've got guns, our kids have guns, the boys can tell the difference between them and girls,” he said. “You don't want to be that as an LA pink-haired freak.”
