Queensland state MP Tim Mander has been reinstated as the Olympic and Paralympic Games Minister following an investigation by the Australian Federal Police.
Mr Mander stood aside from cabinet after he was referred to police by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) in May.
In April, it was revealed Mr Mander had enrolled to vote at the address of a staff member.
He said he was cleared by the federal police.
"I am back at work from today," he said at press conference on Thursday morning.
"My innocence has been proven by the Australian Federal Police, so there's no further discussion to be made."
Mr Mander has previously insisted he had updated the Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) with his correct details every time his circumstances changed.
In May, the election watchdog said it had sought information from Mr Mander about the matter, and that included an opportunity for him to provide information to support his enrolment claim.
"While a determination has not been made, the AEC does consider that there is currently an absence of compelling evidence to determine Mr Mander resided at the enrolled address," a spokesperson said.
"As such, on 19 May the AEC referred this matter to the AFP for their consideration, and any action they consider appropriate."
AFP spokesperson said on May 20 it had received information from the Australian Electoral Commission relating to a Queensland politician.
"No offence has been determined, and the AFP has finalised the matter," the spokesperson said.
