Saindak Raises Security Concerns in Pakistan’s Mineral-Rich Area Metallurgical Corp. of China-operated Saindak Metals Ltd. wants Pakistan’s government to boost security for its copper-gold mine project in its restive Southwest Balochistan, echoing warnings previously raised by Barrick Mining Corp. over surging violence in the region. Saindak “approached the relevant government authorities to facilitate the smooth transportation of furnace oil” to its project after some transporters showed reluctance about operating on routes in the province, according to a statement by the company, citing its Managing Director Raziq Sanjrani, late Wednesday evening.
