Brit lifeguard, 20, falls from third-storey window on dream USA trip OIivia Robinson said she had no memory of how it happened - she is now awaiting surgery A British lifeguard is lucky to be alive after plummeting out of a third-storey window on a dream trip to America - but with no memory of how it happened. Olivia Robinson jetted off to Honolulu in Hawaii in May 2026 to go solo travelling before stopping off in Connecticut to work as a lifeguard. The 20-year-old triathlete met up with some friends on July 4 and, after spending time together, eventually called it a day before heading back to her Airbnb and going to bed. The next thing Olivia remembers is being in hospital, where doctors told her cops had brought her in after plunging three storeys out of a window. The sporty Brit was devastated to be told she'd shattered her pelvis, right thighbone, wrist and had damaged her bladder. Now awaiting surgery on her pelvis and thighbone femur, Olivia's sister Megan Davis has set up a GoFundMe to help cover the costs of her parents flying out to be with her. Megan Davis, from Preston, Lancashire, said: "I just can't actually believe she's alive with the breaks that she's had, it's just a miracle she's still alive. She's in such a severe condition on her own, you just feel helpless. "We have had little FaceTime calls with her, but she's just completely out of it, she has no memory whatsoever of anything, it's just so sad watching her. She's in and out of consciousness, but she's been in extreme pain, it's traumatising watching her. She's got nobody and my mum just desperately wants to get out there." As the last thing Olivia remembers was going to bed, an investigation has been launched to discover what happened. Olivia's brother Kieran said: "She initially went travelling around America, then she got a job as a lifeguard. She's an avid swimmer, she's the sportiest person you could ever come across, she's done triathlons - sport is her life. "She's had a day off, been to see some friends, staying in an Airbnb, then the last thing she remembers is saying she's going to bed. The hospital contacted my mum on Sunday and then my mum rang me to say she's had an accident, but we didn't know the full extent. "My dad then rang me and he gave as much as he knew of the circumstances surrounding her falling. For a 20-year-old to find herself in that position, I couldn't be prouder of how she's handled it because she must have been absolutely terrified." Megan is fundraising so her parents can fly over to be at Olivia's bedside. Megan said: "We just feel completely helpless. I just wish I had a pot of cash I could just give to my mum and dad because that's really the main barrier - the international travel and the accommodation and the expenses. "You just feel totally powerless because it goes against all your instincts as a sister to not actually be able to be there and to sit with her. She's in a right mess and I just want to be there. I've been in a right emotional mess."
