Princess Beatrice celebrates sixth wedding anniversary with Edo after 'challenging time', claims expert EXCLUSIVE: Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary today, and one royal expert believes Andrew and Fergie’s involvement in the Epstein scandal may put a strain on the day Six years ago today, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony in Windsor. The small affair, which was stripped back due to the Covid restrictions at the time, took place on July 17 2020 at All Saints Chapel in Windsor Great Park, with just 20 guests in attendance. Those present included Beatrice’s parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, as well as the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. The princess even wore one of her grandmother’s dresses for her big day - a stunning gown by Sir Norman Hartnell that the late Queen wore for a number of official engagements in the 1960s. Since they tied the knot, Beatrice and Edo - a millionaire property developer and descendent from Italian nobility - have had to face their fair share of challenges after Beatrice’s parents found themselves firmly in the spotlight over their ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew vehemently denies all accusations against him. But according to former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, they have remained a strong unit in the face of much adversity in the first years of their marriage. Jennie told the Mirror : “The traditional gift for a sixth wedding anniversary is something on the theme of iron – representing strength and durability. Beatrice and Edo have certainly endured a testing time during their marriage, as even their wedding had to be first postponed and then completely scaled down because of the Covid pandemic. “Since then, Beatrice has had to watch the humiliation of both her mother and father because of the Epstein scandal. It’s bound to have put pressure on her own relationship." The anniversary comes weeks after the couple were seen smiling as they walked side-by-side into the recent wedding of Beatrice’s cousin Peter Phillips. As Jennie explained: “However, we saw them together at her cousin, Peter‘s, recent wedding – and all seemed well. Their invitation to the wedding was proof that Beatrice‘s royal relations do not hold her responsible in any way for all that her parents are alleged to have done. “The King remains fond of his nieces and it has been made clear that both Beatrice and Eugenie will continue to be invited to family events.” With both Beatrice and Edoardo leading busy lives - juggling children, careers, and the ongoing scandal surrounding Andrew and Fergie - Jennie believes their anniversary celebrations may look a little different this year, but they will no doubt be marking the special occasion with those closest to them. “It seems that Edo is quite often away on business, and Beatrice also has a very busy life as a working mum. But I’m sure they will find time to celebrate this milestone in their young marriage. “It may be more of a family celebration with their two little girls and perhaps Edo’s son, Wolfie, joining in, rather than a romantic dinner out. “On the other hand, I’m sure they have enough money to employ a nanny if needed. So let’s hope they have a happy wedding anniversary, with many more to come.”
