Doritos snack recalled over health risk as urgent 'do not eat' alert issued
The Food Standards Agency has warned the recalled Doritos product could pose a 'possible health risk'.
The company behind Doritos has urgently recalled a batch of the popular snack after a "possible health risk" was identified, with some shoppers warned not to eat the product.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said PepsiCo is recalling packets of Doritos Chilli Heatwave because they may have been filled with the wrong product containing milk, which is not listed on the label.
Officials warned the issue could pose a health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
The recall affects 140g packs of Doritos Chilli Heatwave with the batch code GBC 209 184C and a best before date of December 5, 2026.
Anyone with a milk allergy or intolerance who has bought the affected product is being urged not to eat it and instead return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
PepsiCo has also contacted relevant allergy support organisations to make them aware of the recall and issued point-of-sale notices explaining why the product is being taken off shelves.
Customers wanting more information or a refund can contact the PepsiCo Consumer Care Line on 0800 274777 or visit the company's website.
The Food Standards Agency issued the allergy alert on July 17.
