Drink spiking charge against Melbourne socialite Amy Tossoun thrown out

A Victorian magistrate has struck out a drink spiking case against Melbourne socialite Amy Tossoun. Lawyers for Ms Tossoun appeared in the Mansfield Magistrates' Court on Wednesday after an application to have the matter back before the court was granted. What's next? Magistrate Helen Lambrick struck out a charge of drink spiking and ordered that a diversion plan be put in place for Ms Tossoun in relation to an amphetamine possession charge. A Melbourne socialite accused of drink spiking at a Mount Buller hotel has had the charge against her struck out. Lawyers for Amy Tossoun appeared in the Mansfield Magistrates' Court on Wednesday after an application to have the matter back before the court was granted. Ms Tossoun, 34, had been charged with introducing a drug of dependence into the body of a person and possessing an amphetamine. On Wednesday, Magistrate Heather Lambick struck out the alleged drink spiking charge and granted Ms Tossoun a diversion in relation to the amphetamine possession charge, which was withdrawn. Ms Tossoun is the co-founder of Melbourne-based dentistry practice The Richmond Dentist, and is regularly seen on the socialite circuit. A month after appearing in court in June, she posted photographs on social media of herself attending the Wimbledon tennis championships. Ms Tossoun did not attend today's hearing. An application for an order in relation to the case remains listed for October 14.
