Overnight horror camp near Los Angeles will bring thrill seekers inside slasher movie-style storyline Camp Coffin Creek is touted as Southern California's first fully immersive overnight horror camping experience - Bookmark Horror enthusiasts in Los Angeles County are set for an unprecedented fright next month with the launch of Camp Coffin Creek, an immersive overnight experience designed to plunge participants directly into a slasher film. Debuting in Chino, the camp promises a new level of terror for thrill-seekers. Nightmare Rising Haunted Attraction said Thursday that Camp Coffin Creek will be Southern California's first fully immersive overnight horror camping experience. Unlike traditional haunted houses, this event places guests inside an interactive, unfolding slasher-style storyline. The 12-hour ordeal unfolds across 400 acres at SC Village in Chino, running from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Performers are integrated throughout the night, ensuring campers become active participants in the chilling narrative. The camp will operate on August 21, 22, 28, and 29. Activities include three professionally produced haunted attractions: "Zombie Survival Fight," a tactical mission with gel blaster upgrades; "Zombie Survival Flight," a pursuit through a sewer system; and "Alone in the Woods," an isolated trek. The overnight event also features a special effects makeup workshop led by SyFy's Face Off contestant Eric Fox, alongside scavenger hunts, horror-themed games, a gel blaster shooting range, and outdoor screenings of classic horror films. "You are not watching a slasher movie. You are inside one," the Camp Coffin Creek production team stated. "There are no exits, no guided tours, and no safe distances. Every hour has a purpose, and what lives in the dark will actively pursue you until sunrise." Due to potential physical contact with performers, participants must be at least 13 years old, with those aged 13 to 15 requiring adult accompaniment. All attendees must sign liability waivers. General admission is $120, covering tent rental, an event T-shirt, and access to all activities.
