Key Events The spillage on the M6 was first reported by National Highways just before 2.15pm today. At the time, the agency stated that three out of four lanes were closed on the M6 northbound near Stafford between junctions 14 and 15 "due to a large spillage". At the start, delays were only 15 minutes long, with 1.5 miles of congestion. The delays peaked during rush hour, when drivers faced two hours above normal journey time. National Highways says traffic can only pass in lane one northbound. A statement said: "Lanes 2, 3, and 4 (of 4) are closed on the M6 northbound between J14 and J15 due to a significant offal spillage. Traffic can still pass the scene of the incident in lane 1.
