A man is in hospital after being seriously assaulted near the Commonwealth Games swimming venue.
The 53-year-old was in his car on Glenisla Street, Glasgow, around 9.30pm on Friday night when he was approached by two men with weapons who assaulted him, police said.
He was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
The attack occurred less than a mile from the Tollcross International Swimming Centre, where Commonwealth Games swimming events have been held over the past few days.
The suspects were described as two white men in their 20s.
They fled in a white vehicle, police said.
“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident, and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward,” Detective Constable Martin Howie said.
“If you were in the area on Friday evening and witnessed a disturbance, or noticed anything at all suspicious, please get in touch.
“We would also urge anyone with dashcam or private CCTV footage to check in case it has captured anything which could be of significance.”
