Airport officials have confirmed that all passengers disembarked safely after the flight was diverted after a 'technical issue'
A Turkish Airlines flight has been forced to make an emergency landing at Manchester Airport (July 28). Flight THY1GJ was travelling from Istanbul to Toronto but diverted to Manchester Airport to land at around 7:30pm after doing some laps over the North Sea. As per flight data, the plane likely had to dump fuel in order to land. The plane was met by multiple airport fire and rescue vehicles on arrival, but touched down without incident. Airport officials confirmed the technical issue was addressed, and all passengers disembarked normally.
A spokesperson for Manchester Airport said the aircraft had landed safely and had a 'technical issue' that had since been resolved. Turkish Airlines have been contacted for more information.
