A major police operation is underway in Adelaide's north, where emergency services have cordoned off a section of main road at Elizabeth East.
Dozens of police are at the scene and Main North Road is blocked to southbound traffic from Midway Road.
While details are unclear, police are expected to provide an update at a media conference this afternoon.
There is a major presence by emergency services, and at least 12 police cars are parked at the scene.
Police have cordoned off an area with several hundred metres of tape stretching from the centre of the road to a nature reserve next to the Playford City Tennis Centre.
In a Facebook post, SA Police said it was responding to an incident near the intersection of Fairfield Road.
"Southbound traffic on Main North Road is blocked and will be diverted. Members of the public are to be guided by police at diversion points," it said.
Firefighters are assisting police, and a Metropolitan Fire Service incident command vehicle and truck have attended.
