In a statement on Thursday, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) said it was investigating the incident on the M/V Bruce and extended its "deepest sympathies to the seafarers' families, friends and colleagues". A report is being prepared for the coroner. North Queensland Bulk Ports, which manages the Port of Mackay, has been contacted for comment.
