The company estimates the factory will regain pre-quake levels in output by mid-August. Sony’s plant in Kumamoto prefecture produces image sensors used in digital cameras, surveillance systems and advanced driver-assistance systems for automobiles. The site doesn’t manufacture smartphone image sensors.
