Engie Flags Lower Renewable Additions Due to Slow US Permitting French utility Engie SA’s growth in renewables and battery storage will temporarily slow this year as the Trump administration continues to take time in delivering permits in the US despite growing power demand, Chief Executive Officer Catherine MacGregor said. The company’s clean power capacity additions this year should be “somewhat below” the 5.5 gigawatts it added through organic growth worldwide last year, MacGregor said on a conference call Friday. In the US alone, the utility plans to bring 1.2 gigawatts into commercial operation this year, she said.
