Urgent product recall issued for children's toy over 'serious choking risk' Parents are urged to stop their children using it immediately and to keep it out of their reach A children's toy is being pulled from shelves as it presents a 'serious choking risk'. The Vilac Farm Musical Blocks, which are coloured musical blocks with farm-theme artwork designed for children aged 18 months and older, are being recalled. The Office for Product Safety & Standards is urging parents to stop their children from using the toy immediately, keep it out of reach of children, and contact the 'distributor' for redress. Explaining the reason for the recall, the website states: "The product presents a serious risk of choking as it includes small parts that can detach or break off during reasonably foreseeable use, creating small parts that fit entirely within a small parts cylinder. "The product has been recalled from end users by the retailer." It continued: "These small parts pose a choking risk to young children, particularly those under 36 months of age who have a natural tendency to explore objects by placing them in their mouths. "The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011. "The product has been recalled from end users by the retailer, Bebeco. Affected Bebeco customers have been contacted directly. "We recommend that owners stop using the product immediately and keep it out of children’s reach. Contact the distributor you purchased from to request redress." A message distributed by the Office for Product Safety & Standards says: "Share this post with friends and family who may have this product."
