Extenet Bonds Miss Interest Amid Alleged Cash Control Violations
Bonds issued by Extenet Systems, a company that operates miniature cell towers, are in default after missing interest payments, and the firm also engaged in cash management violations, according to the bank responsible for collecting payments.
Interest on the asset-backed securities was due on July 27, but Extenet failed to make the payments, according to a letter from PNC Bank’s Midland Loan Services division seen by Bloomberg. The bank also said that certain collections due to bondholders have been deposited into accounts other than their intended recipients, and certain liens on the debt have “ceased to be perfected.”
