Horror moment dad's face 'caught on fire' in family BBQ disaster Influencer Rebecca Zamolo has shared the horror injuries her husband Matthew Yoakum suffered when a family BBQ ended in disaster - she has now issued a health update Influencer Rebecca Zamolo said her husband, Matthew Yoakum, suffered second-degree burns after his face caught fire during a BBQ. Rebecca has gained a substantial online audience through family-focused videos, challenges and entertainment content. She has about 3.3 million followers on Instagram and more than 30 million subscribers on YouTube. Matt, who also appears regularly in the family videos, is familiar to many of her followers. The couple often features their children, Zadie and Xander, in content shared across their social media channels. On Friday July 31 Rebecca shared images which showed visible burns across parts of Matt's face and explained he suffered the injuried during a BBQ accident. The photographs documented his condition abroad and offered followers a look at the redness and damage caused by the flames. The family did not provide further details about how the fire started or whether he received hospital treatment immediately afterwards. Taking to Instagram she wrote: "For those who don’t know, Matt’s face caught on fire at our BBQ and it gave him “2nd degree superficial burns”. It was hours before our flight to Hawaii to celebrate his birthday so he has been healing here. (He still wanted to go). It was a scary incident for all of us, and a reminder how precious life is. "Thank you to everyone that has reached out and friends that are in the medical field and put him on a good path to heal. He’s extremely lucky as it could have been a lot worse, but we are taking it day by day. We love you Matt." Many of her followers took to the comments to share their support. “One wrote: "Omg. That is horrible. So happy he’s okay." Another added, "Sending love & prayers.” A third follower said, "This is awful! Get well soon Matt!” The couple has not shared an update on Matt's condition since the images were posted on Friday, but Rebecca said they were handling his recovery one day at a time.
