Man finds cat wandering around Alton Towers and is floored by how far he travelled A man was left gobsmacked when he noticed an adorable black cat wandering through Alton Towers, and when he found out the distance he'd allegedly travelled to be there, he couldn't believe it Alton Towers is a great family day out packed with adrenaline, but one man reportedly got far more when he found a wandering cat, who had travelled very far from home. The last thing you expect to see when you're rollercoaster hopping is a furry friend walking around the park, too, as there's nothing in Alton Towers to entertain a moggy. But that's exactly what seems to have happened in this case. However, the man didn't realise how far from home he actually was when he sat down and stroked the gorgeous puss. Coastertog, who shares content from theme parks, explained on Facebook what allegedly happened when Plagg was found. He penned: "Goodbye, Alton Towers cat. This story is kinda crazy! Yesterday, this loveable fella was taken to the vets by Alton Towers staff, and it turns out he was microchipped and had an owner! "His name is Plagg, and he had wandered all the way from his home in Cheadle to spend all his time at Alton Towers (sounds a bit like me). Plagg has now been reunited with his family from Cheadle". Coastetog then urged people to let him know if anyone sees Plagg again, writing: "If you ever see Plagg back at the resort again, please let me know, as staff are worried he may wander back to the park. So goodbye, Plagg, it’s been lovely knowing you, but I’m so happy you’re now safe and back home". Cheadle, where Plagg is from, is approximately six miles away from Alton Towers, so he's travelled quite far from home. In the comments, a man shared a similar experience that his grandad had with cats in the past. One wrote: "There is a good chance Plagg may wander again, as it's a known fact. My grandparents, many years ago, had a cat, and they moved house some three miles away. The cat was named Wisky, and three times my Grandad went in search of Wisky the cat and took him back home to their new home. "But Wisky had other ideas and again wandered off. After he'd wandered again, my Grandad went in search of Wisky, and sure enough, he was wandering around their old home area. "My Grandad decided not to take Wisky back to the new home again, but instead looked over the old home garden to see people moving into my Grandad's previous home and decided to speak with the new tenants about Wisky. "The fact was, Wisky had become content with his old home surroundings and just wouldn't adjust to change. To this day, I never knew what the outcome was for Wisky [...] So if Plagg does return to Alton Towers, it may be for the best just to leave Plagg be to live his cat life as he chooses, and so to avoid any unnecessary unwanted stress". Someone joked: "That cat would rather be a stray at Alton Towers than live in Cheadle!" "That's some very typical cat behaviour right there," another said.
