Shares jumped 285% since 2022, when Lilly’s GLP-1 drug Mounjaro was first approved as a treatment for diabetes. That regulatory nod, coupled with a subsequent approval of weight-loss shot Zepbound for obesity, helped propel Lilly to become the first pharmaceutical company to cross the $1 trillion threshold.
