He appeared in court on Tuesday (August 4), charged with attempted felony murder, aggravated child abuse, and a probation violation. During the machete attack, Altidore is said to have yelled according to an arrest report seen by Florida news outlet WPLG . She escaped her home and found a neighbour who raised the alarm, Luis Pereria. He recalled: “She ran to the middle of the street and then ran to my front door where she was asking for help.” Doorbell camera footage reportedly shows the victim ringing her neighbour’s doorbell before collapsing on the ground. While the baby’s mother suffered horrific injuries, the one-year-old tot was left unharmed, but covered in blood. Blood was found inside the home and smudged on a machete sheath following police investigations. The motive for the attack remains unclear.
