Consumer Tech Google Wallet Now Lets Parents in the US Send Money Directly to Kids Alphabet Inc.’s Google is adding more parental controls to Google Wallet, including making it possible for parents in the US to send money directly to their children. The update, announced Thursday, builds on Wallet’s existing option for minors to add a credit card to a parent’s Google account, which can then be supervised via Family Link parental controls. In addition to allowing kids and teens under the age of 18 to receive money, Google is rolling out scheduled automated payments. Parents can also now set daily spending limits and oversee their account activity through transaction history or push notifications. Guardians can lock or unlock the balance remotely.
