The force explained that Ben was carrying an orange bag and wearing black climbing shoes with an orange strap. He is described as around 5ft11in tal, of athletic build and short brown and greying hair and brown eyes. A statement from the police reads: "Can you help find Ben, missing from St Davids? "Ben is 47 and described as around 5ft 11in tall, of athletic build, with short brown / greying hair and brown eyes. He has last spoken to by family at around midday yesterday (Wednesday, August 5) when he intended to go rock climbing, either in the Carreg y Barcud area, near Trelerw, or Caer Bwdy Bay, outside St Davids. "Ben was carrying an orange bag, and wearing black climbing shoes with an orange strap. Anyone who has seen or spoken to Ben since midday on August 5 is asked to get in touch." Specialist officers, drones, a helicopter, a marine unit, HM Coastguard and the RNLI are all understood to have been deployed for the search. SARS Cymru stated that the search was underway off the coast at St Davids as of 5am today, with an HM Coastguard plane from Humberside and numerous RNLI boats in attendance.
