The AI boom has prompted global tech giants to raise billions issuing bonds, but for at least one major manufacturer the involvement in credit markets doesn’t stop there.
South Korean chip giant SK Hynix Inc. is expanding its own investments into local corporate bonds as it manages a growing cash pile, people familiar with the matter said. Several credit analysts and market participants estimate that SK Hynix has bought 10 trillion won to 40 trillion won ($7 billion to $28 billion) this year, with the high end of that range including commercial paper.
