However, he has still brought in a tidy amount in winnings and a good chunk of it has passed down to caddie Harry Diamond. Diamond, McIlroy's friend and long-term looper, has made more money this year alone than others will bring in across an entire season. Estimates put his 2026 earnings between $750,000 and $850,000 (£557,240 and £631,540). These figures are based on the standard pay doled out to caddies. Generally speaking, they earn a 10 per cent cut after wins, five per cent when the player they work with bags a top-10 finish and five per cent whenever they make the cut. Diamond's most lucrative windfall this year came at the Masters. McIlroy successfully defended his title at Augusta National, collecting a record $4.5million (£3.3m) winner's cheque with Diamond scooping $450,000 (£334,000) for his 10 per cent cut. McIlroy added a further $840,000 (£631,000) from the PGA Championship, U.S. Open and The Open, including $637,050 (£473,300) for a T7 showing in the former as Aaron Rai claimed victory. McIlroy's 2026 campaign also featured a T2 placing at the Genesis Invitational, a T12 at the Memorial and a T7 at the Genesis Scottish Open. However, he won't be in the field for the upcoming FedEx St. Jude Championship. Even his T46 at The Players, T32 at the U.S. Open, and T40 at The Open contributed to the overall figures. A level-par showing at The Players netted $72,000 (£53,000), whilst a T40 at The Open yielded $69,000 (£51,000) for his smallest payday of the campaign. Haotong Li sits at $741,536, with Keita Nakajima at $740,571, Stefano Mazzoli at $720,000, and Rico Hoey at $718,607. Diamond isn't leading the way for caddy income, though. World No.1 Scottie Scheffler has accumulated $16.9m (£12.5m) in prize money this campaign, with bagman Ted Scott estimated to have raked in close to $1.4m (£1m) as a result. The Northern Irishman's background outside golf is reportedly in the hospitality industry. His family has links to pubs, hotels and eateries around Bangor and Belfast and maintained associations with the Marine Hotel and Dukes Hotel. Today, though, it's Diamond's work with McIlroy which has earned him the big bucks. Despite a reduced schedule, the Masters winner is not anticipated to encounter any PGA penalties for falling short of the minimum tournament requirement.
