Many pet owners struggle when they need to go out for the day and leave their pet at home alone. That's why many rely on a camera in their homes, so they can keep an eye on their cats and dogs while they're away and make sure they're not getting up to too much mischief.
Over at Amazon, the Blink Mini Pan-Tilt Camera - which offers day and night surveillance with live streams viewable from smartphones, tablets and compatible Alexa devices - is over half price, at £16.99 down from £34.99. Available in black or white, the rotating indoor pet security camera has 360° coverage with motion detection, live streaming and two-way audio, so users can communicate with their pets wherever they are.
The camera has HD day and night view, so pet owners can see exactly what their pets are up to whatever the time of day, with its rotation able to capture all corners of the room. Plus, users can set up a Blink Subscription Plan, from £2.50 per month per device, or £8 per month for unlimited devices on a single account, which allows them to save videos, capture photos, and more.

"Bought this to keep an eye on our new rescue dog", said one Amazon shopper as they went on to highlight the 'easy set-up'. They continued: "It has amazing features which I would expect to pay a lot more for. It’s great that you can mount it upside down, so we attached it to the ceiling so the dog wouldn’t attack it when we moved it.
As an alternative, shoppers could take a look at the Petcube 360 Pet Camera, which costs £59 at John Lewis. This one comes in white and delivers 1080p HD live streaming video, but only has a 105° wide-angle view compared to the Blink's 360° coverage. It works with Amazon Alexa, though, and has an 8x digital zoom.

At Argos, the Tapo C200 1080P Full HD Pan/Tilt Wi-Fi Home Security Camera is available for £18.99. It also delivers 1080p HD video instantly, has 360° rotation and night vision, as well as two-way audio and a sound and light alarm.
The Blink Mini Pan-Tilt Camera has lots of reviews at Amazion, as users like its smooth tilt and picture quality. One five-star reviewer said: "Really pleased with this camera. The pan-tilt feature works smoothly and lets you see the whole room, which is perfect for keeping an eye on pets.
"The video quality is clear, even in low light, and the two-way audio is surprisingly good. Setup was quick and straightforward, and the app is easy to use. Motion detection works well without being overly sensitive. For the price, it’s an excellent indoor security camera — highly recommended."
Another said: "Excellent camera quality both in day and night. Can communicate through it one way, which works perfectly. Motion detection is good and works well. Bear in mind you have to buy a subscription to be able to save videos and visit past motion events (there’s another way you can, which involves buying something else - but not sure); however, to watch live, you don’t need anything."
A third added: "Love Blink products, both inside and outside cameras, wired and wireless. I’ve bought them all. Great picture quality, confidence in the motion detection, easy to install and app use for playback or live streaming while I’m away from home or hear a bump in the night! Great quality, brilliant value for money, massive thumbs up every time."
One reviewer left a four-star review that said: "Purchased this camera with two of the minis, really good quality camera, no complaints in terms of the usage, etc. The only disappointment is the cost of the subscription service as you can only link two cameras to the subscription and need a separate one if you have more. The app can also be glitchy from time to time, but they do what I need them for, and they are reasonably priced."
Another said: "Installed to keep an eye on an aging dog and is good for this, great there is no subscription charge. Only shame is the night mode seems to stay on during the day if the light is low, so you get black and white back-lit images."
