The second image showed Mundt with the ring while Russell sat on a table behind her. The third featured Mundt posing with her back to the camera overlooking the seafront, while the fourth included a light display. Fans, including Manchester City footballer Jack Grealish, were quick to congratulate the pair, who first met in London in 2019 but have been officially together since 2020. "Congrats brother," Grealish said, alongside a blue love heart emoji. Another wrote: "My fav driver couple finally makes the next step ahhh. Congrats to both of you! ! the ring looks so special." Russell and Mundt are the latest F1 couple to announce their engagement, following Ferrari's Charles Leclerc who tied the knot with Alexandra Saint Mleux in February, having revealed their engagement late in 2025. Mundt, who works in finance, boasts over 900,000 followers on Instagram. Russell, meanwhile, commands more than NINE million followers and sits third in the F1 Drivers' Standings this season, trailing Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli by 59 points and sitting nine behind Ferrari ace Lewis Hamilton. When quizzed about the 2026 F1 season thus far, after last month's Hungarian Grand Prix, Russell said: "It's just been a bit of a rollercoaster, you know. It's really not been a smooth season whatsoever. I don't really have a mindset - just try and forget about racing for a bit, and try and come back stronger."
