Aldi is changing store opening times to close earlier - full list of locations The supermarket changed the opening times of 97 branches in July - after already introducing a 9pm close to around 50 branches earlier this year Aldi is closing some of its stores an hour earlier as part of a new trial - and a full list of locations has been revealed. The shops will close one hour earlier at 9pm instead of 10pm. Aldi has put signs out in affected stores to notify customers and will listen to feedback before making a permanent decision, according to The Sun. It is understood that the stores chosen to take part in the trial are ones where footfall is lower in its final trading hour. Aldi has more than 1,080 stores, so the majority of its branches will still close at 10pm, Monday to Saturday. Most of its shops shut at 4pm on Sunday, due to trading laws. A spokesperson from Aldi said: “As the UK’s cheapest supermarket, our commitment to customers is that they will always pay the lowest possible prices every time they shop with us. “Our efficient business model means that we are always looking for new ways to pass on even greater savings to Aldi shoppers.” It comes after Aldi revealed it will open 16 new stores over the coming months and has revealed a full list of locations. The budget supermarket will also soon upgrade 25 stores across the UK. Some of the changes include more space to shop and more sustainable features, such as energy-efficient fridge doors. Aldi will also upgrade its bakery, health and beauty and fresh food areas in select locations. The changes will vary by location.
