Residents have been urged to close their doors and windows due to smoke from the blaze, believed to be at Recycleforce, a business off Gretton Brook Road, on the Earlstrees Industrial Estate in Corby. A witness told the Northamptonshire Telegraph: “We’ve just heard a huge explosion. The smell is unbelievable. It’s all over Corby.” Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue stated: "We're currently in attendance at a fire on Earlstrees Industrial Estate in Corby, after being called shortly before 2pm (August 10). Multiple crews are currently on scene. Nearby residents are asked to please close their windows & doors due to the plume of smoke & avoid the area." Key Events Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service has given an update saying that there is no access currently to Gretton Brook Road. A statement reads: "Due to a major fire on the Earlstrees Industrial Estate in Corby, there is no access to Gretton Brook Road. "Road closures are in place at Rockingham Road, Princewood Road, Corby Road and Phoenix Parkway. Please avoid the area." A local councillor has shared images of the fire, adding that roads have been closed as a result. Cllr Lee Duffy stated on Facebook: "A massive fire at 'Recycle Force' on Gretton Brook Road / Phoenix Parkway ( within my ward ). Road closed off at junction with Earlstree Road. "Brunel Road currently still open. I've just been up there and am reliably informed by 'Fire Wardens' and 'First Aiders' that they believe nobody has been injured. "Let's hope our emergency service personnel stay safe as they battle with what looks to the untrained eye to be a serious fire."
