Nigeria’s central bank broadened participation in Open Market Operations, allowing all eligible investors including individuals, corporates and non-bank financial institutions to participate in the purchase and trading of the securities.
The bank also lifted its suspension of tenored repo operations, and may now inject liquidity into the market for anything from four to 90 days, according to a circular issued late on Wednesday. The new framework takes effect immediately, it said.
