Citigroup Inc. sees more Asian companies selling shares in the US as technology firms look to raise valuations and tap the deep pools of capital in the world’s largest equity market.
Asian tech firms are trying to boost their valuation by being traded alongside US peers in the form of American Depositary Receipts, according to Adrian Nye, Japan, Asia North and Australia Head of Issuer Services at Citigroup. Companies on the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, known as the SOX, trade at about 22 times estimated earnings on average, more than double that of Asian peers, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
