New Aldi robot cleaner similar to £300 Currys version out Thursday for £230 less Customers will be able to bring the new robot cleaner home that rivals other brands after its release on Thursday Aldi is launching a new piece of tech in its upcoming batch of Special Buy Middle Aisle offers next week. The product is similar to a version being sold at Currys for more than quadruple the price. On Thursday, August 20, Aldi will be releasing a new collection of 'Student Home' essentials to help those heading to university dorms feel as prepared as possible. Many of the items in the range are designed to help students keep their rooms clean and tidy as they focus on a brand-new term of late-night study sessions and busy socials. A spokesperson for Aldi said: "Landing in stores from August 20, with a second wave of essentials arriving on August 23, Aldi’s affordable student ranges offer everything needed to make student houses feel like home. But those looking to graduate with great savings will need to be quick - as with all Special Buys, when they’re gone, they’re gone." To help students keep on top of chores between lectures and socials, Aldi is launching a Vacuum Cleaner Robot for £69.99. The spokesperson added: "Doing the hard work so students don't have to, it effortlessly sweeps up dust and debris around the house." The £69.99 robot cleaner is equipped with a HEPA filter and advanced sensors to avoid obstacles. Aldi says it has a "long-lasting" battery of 1.5 hours of use. It can be controlled via remote or app. It also comes with a side brush to prevent hair tangles and an auto-recharge function. The full product description reads: "Discover smart cleaning with our multifunctional robot vacuum. Combining sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping, it’s perfect for hard floors. With a powerful brushless motor delivering 3000 Pa suction and a 400 ml dustbin plus 250 ml water tank, it cleans efficiently and thoroughly." Savvy shoppers can save compared to similar vacuums from the premium brand Eufy. Currys is selling the Eufy RoboVac L60 Hybrid Robot Vacuum Cleaner for £299. On the Currys website, the product description for the £299 piece of tech reads: "Put your feet up and let this Eufy Hybrid RoboVac clean your floors for you. Its two-in-one function both vacuums and mops your floor - just swap the brush for the mop pad and let it do its thing. "Its powerful suction can lift dust, crumbs and even pet hair. The iPath Laser Navigation feature scans the room and quickly cleans every inch, leaving no dust bunnies behind. And the BoostIQ tech changes the suction power to suit the floor type, leaving your home squeaky clean in no time." Aldi's Ambiano Robot Vacuum and the eufy L60 Hybrid both offer sweeping, vacuuming, and light mopping. They both have a two-in-one design that allows them to vacuum dry debris while also wiping hard floors with a damp cloth attachment. Both models connect to Wi-Fi and can be controlled through smartphone apps, plus they work with smart home assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. However, they differ significantly in terms of cleaning performance, navigation intelligence, and price.
