Tennessee starting safety Edrees Farooq suffered a torn patellar tendon in his right knee Friday and will miss the season, a UT spokesperson confirmed to ESPN. Farooq, a junior from Columbia, Maryland, was expected to be one of the leaders of new coordinator Jim Knowles' defense.
