Swansea ballboy kicked by Eden Hazard now set to pocket £500m in jaw-dropping deal Charlie Morgan hit headlines back in 2013 after a clash with Eden Hazard, and is set to make an absolute fortune away from the world of football The ex-Swansea City ballboy who was kicked by Eden Hazard is set to make £500million, 13 years after the infamous incident. Charlie Morgan was embroiled in confrontation with Hazard during the Swans' League Cup semi-final clash with Chelsea in January 2013. At the age of 17 at the time, he refused to five the ball back to the Belgian winger after it had crossed the line for a goal kick, lying on it with his stomach. That prompted Hazard to attempt to kick it free from underneath him. That ultimately sparked fury, given Hazard seemed to have made contact with the teenager at the time. As Morgan lay holding his ribs with a frown on his face, referee Chris Foy sent Hazard off. The match ultimately finished 0-0, but it was enough to send Swansea through to the final on aggregate thanks to a 2-0 win earlier in the month at Stamford Bridge. The episode saw Morgan - whose millionaire father Martin also serves as a director at Swansea City - gain instant notoriety. He accumulated tens of thousands of followers across social media as a result. Yet, more than a decade after the incident, he has carved out success beyond football. Now 30, the Swansea native co-owns drinks brand Au Vodka, which he established with his friend Jackson Quinn in 2015. Throughout the past decade, the premium vodka label has experienced extraordinary growth, with the company previously valued at approximately £150 million. Morgan and Quinn, in the meantime, recently saw their individual net worths estimated at a substantial £75 million apiece, according to the 2026 Drinks Industry Rich List. Yet their fortunes are now poised to skyrocket, with the pair said to be on the verge of securing a remarkable £500 million deal to sell Au Vodka to American drinks giant Sazerac Company, which already owns brands including BuzzBallz and Southern Comfort. Should the deal go through, Morgan and Quinn stand to receive substantial windfalls, with reports suggesting they will walk away with payouts exceeding £100 million. It remains uncertain, though, whether the co-owners will retain their positions with the company following completion of the deal. Au Vodka's expansion has been driven by social media campaigns and endorsements from high-profile figures, including boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, football icon Ronaldinho and rapper Fredo. Back in 2017, Radio 1 DJ Charlie Sloth acquired a 20 per cent stake in the business after being approached by Morgan and Quinn, with his network of rappers and celebrity contacts credited with enhancing the brand's profile. Kitbag has slashed up to 70% off football kits and merch in its end-of-season sale. Fans can find discounts on products from Premier League clubs including Man United, Man City, Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal, Spurs and more. Meanwhile, in 2023, YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul 'tattooed' an image of the company's bottle onto his body after receiving $250,000 to do so in the run-up to his fight with Tommy Fury. Although it subsequently came to light that the stunt was staged, it served to propel the brand even further into the spotlight, with Quinn telling the BBC at the time: "Our engagement on that moment was pretty special. "We've got 300,000 followers on Instagram at the moment and on that post, in particular, it had 290,000 likes." Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
