Jet2 UK-bound flight from Spain in chaos after 'wing tip hit' A Jet2 Holidays flight from Palma de Mallorca to Bristol was halted and delayed for hours after the plane's wingtip was struck by boarding stairs, passengers said Scores of holidaymakers were left facing lengthy delays on a Jet2 flight home from Spain after the plane's wingtip was struck by boarding stairs. Flight LS1872, which was due to depart Palma de Mallorca at 10:25am and land in Bristol, was halted with passengers forced to disembark the Boeing 737-800 aircraft. One passenger called Finley told how travellers were told to expect a two-hour delay because of an "air traffic restriction". He said: "I'm in Palma airport and a ground stairs vehicle has just hit the wing tip of our Jet2Holidays B737 Max 8 aircraft. "This was flight LS1872 from Palma Majorca to Bristol, which was supposed to depart at 10.25am. Once boarded, we were told it was due to be delayed for two hours because of an air traffic restriction. "An hour later, we were told we were good to go. Minutes later, the ground vehicle collided with the wing tip." After being sent back to the terminal, the passengers waited another hour or so before being told they could get back on the plane, ready for departure, reports Bristol Live. The later flight was due to depart at 3pm local time (2pm UK time) and was set to land back in the UK at 4pm - more than four hours late. Finley added: "We were only here for a few nights, but after getting a taxi at 7.30am this morning for a short drive, to be boarding for the second time six hours after arriving, it's a nightmare. But we're relieved to be getting on it now." The Mirror has contacted Jet2 Holidays for comment.
