China’s Sichuan Yahua Industrial Group Co. plans to start operating a $200 million lithium-sulfate plant in Zimbabwe in the second quarter of next year amid a push by the southern African country to reap more value from its natural resources.
“Everything is on track, our construction is good,” Turkey Liang, chief operations officer for the company’s local unit, said in an interview in the mining settlement of Kamativi, western Zimbabwe. “Our design has been done and equipment has been manufactured and is on its way.”
