Lidl claims the item has a 'versatile use' and is 'ideal for storing shoes'
Homes can quickly become cluttered with everyday items, and shoes are no exception. People usually get in from a busy day at work and leave a pair or two lying idle in the middle of hallways - but one new item at Lidl could help bring some order to the chaos.
Lidl has a reputation for selling affordable groceries, but its 'Middle of Lidl' aisles have become hugely popular in recent times. It rotates twice weekly with a selection of low-cost homeware, with everything from home decor, kitchen appliances, storage solutions and seasonal offers available.
The LIVARNO Shoe Storage is an example of one of these products, and comes priced at just £5.99. It measures a not-too-compact L26 x W24 x H65.5cm and has a white aesthetic, which means you shouldn't struggle to find a place for it in your property.
According to Lidl, the organiser has a "versatile use" thanks to its "5 levels with raised edges for secure storage". One pair of footwear should be able to fit on each tier, meaning it can store five in total.
Lidl continues: "Modular system that can be separated as required, sturdy construction made of easy-care durable, plastic, easy tool-free assembly. Maximum load of 1kg per compartment, 3-year warranty".
It bears a striking resemblance to similar but more expensive alternatives on sale at other major retailers like B&Q. It currently has the 6-Tier Foldable Plastic Shoe Rack in stock for £11.50 - that's nearly double the price of the Lidl option.
At a glance, it's quite hard to tell the two apart. The main difference, other than the price tag, is that the B&Q option has an additional tier, meaning buyers can store one more pair of shoes.
"Maintain an orderly and stylish shoe collection with this 6-Tier Folding Shoe Rack," reads the product description on the B&Q website. "Designed with six tiers and A-shaped support panels, it provides the ideal display platforms, maximising vertical space and keeping your shoes neatly organised.
"Made of high-quality plastic, this durable shoe rack can accommodate a variety of shoe types from boots to sneakers. Super easy to assemble, it serves as a reliable storage solution.
"This shoe rack includes a back panel to prevent shoes from sliding off. Lightweight and easily foldable, it's perfect for dorms and homes, and the open design allows you to easily access your shoes."
