Princess Eugenie reveals baby daughter's name that pays tribute to late Queen Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank have welcomed their third child - a baby daughter - and now they have revealed the name they have given their little girl Princess Eugenie has revealed the name of her new baby daughter - and explained it pays tribute to the late Queen. The King's niece and her husband Jack Brooksbank, who already have two sons, announced they had welcomed a baby girl earlier this month, with Eugenie giving birth in a hospital in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. Now they have revealed she has been given the name Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank. In a post on Instagram sharing new pictures of her daughter, Eugenie wrote: "2 weeks ago today we welcomed our girl to the world. And since then we've had the most special, cosy and love-filled time. "We are so happy to share Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank. Named after three people we love and admire past and present, including her Great-Grandmother who we hold close in our hearts. Her name is part of English and Portuguese history, two places we love and call home. Augie and Ernie are already the best big brothers." Eugenie announced her daughter's birth almost two weeks ago in an Instagram post sharing a photo of her clutching dad Jack's finger and wearing a pink onesie with angel wings and a hat. The post read: "Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie" followed by five heart emojis. A statement from Buckingham Palace also announced the birth, saying Eugenie's uncle the King was 'delighted'. It said: "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6.20pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. "The baby was born weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces. Their Majesties the King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news." Adelaide, who is not an HRH and will not receive a royal title, has been born 15th in line to the throne behind brothers August, five, and three-year-old Ernest, with her great uncle Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, moved down to 16th place. She is also the 15th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II, and the third to be born since her death in 2022. The new arrival is also the fifth grandchild of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, the former Duke and Duchess of York, after the birth of their older daughter Princess Beatrice’s second child Athena Mapelli Mozzi in January last year. There was no reference to Eugenie's parents in her post or in the statement from Buckingham Palace. Fergie, who has gone to ground in recent months after revelations about her association with Jeffrey Epstein, has not yet spoken publicly about her new granddaughter. Meanwhile, the birth is a rare occasion where a member of the Royal Family has been born overseas, with Eugenie and Jack having a home and other connections in Portugal. However, despite being born in Lisbon, Adelaide is not automatically eligible for Portuguese citizenship. The country does not grant birthright citizenship to children born to foreign national parents and only grants citizenship, where one parent has been resident in the country for five years at the time of the baby's birth. The family started spending time in Portugal in 2022 - four years ago - when Jack started working for a property tycoon with a development based on the exclusive CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club, south of Lisbon. He had previously been the European brand director of Casamigos Tequila, which is owned by Hollywood actor George Clooney. Eugenie revealed her third pregnancy back in early May when an official announcement came from Buckingham Palace, which added that the King was 'delighted' at the news. At the time, the princess and the Palace shared a sweet snap of her two sons looking down at a print of an ultrasound. The princess posted on her Instagram page: “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!” followed by a series of red heart emojis and one of a baby. While in a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer. “August (aged five) and Ernest (aged two) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family. His Majesty The King has been informed and is delighted with the news.” The infant's birth came just weeks after Eugenie and her sister Beatrice were seemingly brought in from the cold to join the Royal Family at the wedding of their cousin Peter Phillips - following revelations about their parents' association with Jeffrey Epstein. They had previously stayed away from the traditional royal gathering on Easter Sunday, with the agreement of Charles, amid the furore over their father, who was arrested in February. They also did not attend Royal Ascot this year, at which they are usually regulars, or other summer events such as Wimbledon. They also came under more scrutiny when it emerged that neither of them personally pay rent for their London homes with royal palaces. Eugenie has a cottage at Kensington Palace and Beatrice an apartment in St James Palace. The National Audit Office published a report into the royal family’s residential property arrangements after controversy surrounding the disgraced former prince Andrew's lease of his former home Royal Lodge from the Crown Estate. Other findings by the public spending watchdog included the revelation that the King foots the bill for Beatrice and Eugenie's accommodation in royal palaces despite both of them being non-working royals.
